Sports massage
The IHS Sports massage course will educate you as a physiotherapeutic sports masseuse. This course provides you with the opportunity to work as a masseuse, both within sports and wellness, furthermore it's a perfect supplement if you plan to work as a coach, but also a perfect study supplement.
Content:
You will gain good knowledge about anatomy and physiology, which will supplement perfectly if you plan an education within physiotherapy, occupational therapy, sports coach or a physician.
To be more specific, this class will enrich you with relevant knowledge about muscle attachments, source and function as well as an understanding of how massage has an impact on both healthy and damaged muscles. Theory, cases and massage are not only related to regular disabilities in the musculoskeletal system, but also typical sports injuries.
Skills:
At the end of this course you will be able to give a "physiotherapeutic" massage of the whole body and on specific areas. With your newly gained skills, you will be able to help with sore muscles and fatigue.
Structure:
This subject will be in a very intense process, containing 1/3 theory and 2/3 practice.
If this subject has caught your interest, you need to know it takes some extra hours of your spare time besides your class schedule to practice and improve your skills. The school will provide the necessary equipment.
This class is available in the fall in both terms and in the spring, both 2nd and 3rd term.
