In this part of our subjects, our focus is set on the democratic education. We debate and put important subjects which has influence on all of us into perspective.

The subjects will challenge your perception of your self-image and your surroundings.

At IHS we make an effort to focus on topics and issues which are contemporary.

The classes are available at different times a year – see more detailed descriptions, under each class.

The Debate

At Folk schools, there is an all over tendency to create Bell-jar mentality amongst the students. That is very positive, but it's also important to orientate within the community, what's on the News in Denmark and the world outside The Folk school.

We will have debates about the latest News from the media as well as the political world.

As a part of the classes, we will have ongoing discussions about moral and ethical situations connected to relevant topics. The primary goal is to make you relate to the surrounding society even though you are right in the middle of a Bell-jar.

The debate is available in the Spring 2nd and 3rd and in the Fall 1st and 2nd term.
