IHS is a high school, where students can perfect their knowledge through classroom and athletic training, thus enabling them to be active participants in finding and fulfilling their own unique potential.

Awareness

It is our goal to make all of our students aware of the democratic community we live in.  The democratic nature and understanding is anchored in recognition of equal rights.  Therefore, at IHS we stress the importance of respecting others beliefs, opinions and cultural background.

Having a Say

In a democracy, conversation is critical in obtaining the best outcome.  Lively, respectful discussions are encouraged and are an important value in the school. Therefore, at IHS we involve both the students and the faculty in the decision making process. 

Educational Values

Developing Successful Leaders and Trainers

The trainer and leader courses at IHS contain many elements.  The students become more capable within their own sport, which makes them more suitable for training children and youth.  Through pedagogical theory and practical experience, students learn how to prepare, complete and evaluate their training classes.  Finally, the students become more conscious of the importance of athletics and its role in society. 

Expanding your Intellect

Furthering the expanses of your mind is a process which advances an individual persons development – intellectually, socially and emotionally.  The values and norms in society are debated in a respectful environment.  The social life at the school enters into the essential part of this formation process.

Faculty Excellence

The teacher’s subjects and pedagogical skills are a significant reason in giving all of the students a relevant challenge, irrespective of their talents.  They work to foster an environment in which teaching and learning flourish.

Using Sports as a Means of Development

Sports are used as a platform for personal growth and professional development as well as an aid in developing your social relationships.  Through our coaching tactics, we develop the student’s drive, and with the use of focused sports and training, we compel the students to foresee, judge, decide and determine who they wish to be and become.

Enjoying Sports

Sports are fascinating and a good middle ground to develop group relationships.  We play, dance, train and compete together.  Using your body is its own form of happiness.  Through training and games, we practice patience, determination, and attitude to develop our students personalities.

We Cheer Up

We create comfort, where the individual can express himself and feel satisfied.  In IHS’s stimulating teaching environment, we search for a balance between ability and challenge.  To achieve success, one must feel accepted for who they are.  We stimulate self-confidence and promote beliefs in one’s personality, other than those that one may have originally expected.  We hope that a term at IHS contributes to the students desire to establish and enter into a strong group relationship.

Reflection

We create teaching situations where each individual is active in the teaching process and thus is equally responsible for his own, as well as his friend’s, accomplishments in teaching.  This approach gives students the opportunity to speak about the essential topics in both teaching situations and during their free time.

We perceive each other as independent and engaging individuals.  We believe that honesty and credibility further develop ones self-confidence and self-worth.  Therefore we meet each other with openness, trust and insist on respect within the school. 

Build Lasting Friendships

At IHS you are together with other young adults who share your interest and love for sports.  These nourishing friendships develop in a close boarding school environment through the help of sports, debate and many common experiences.  School reunions and annual get-togethers contribute to the ease of maintaining the friendships that are formed during your time at IHS.
